Portable Gas Analyzer: Nicholas Boogades

Nicholas Boogades uses a portable gas analyzer to measure greenhouse gas fluxes from soil and compares emissions between production systems for emission reduction.

Nicholas gives an example of the use of the portable gas analyzer. He says, "If we have high carbon dioxide fluxes, it tells us that there is a lot of general microbial activity occurring in the soil. If we detect nitrous oxide, we might be applying nitrogen inefficiently or there is a possibility of anaerobic soil conditions."
