Student Worker Spotlight

Lewis Lab’s undergraduate student workers:

The student workers get an opportunity to learn more about the Texas A&M AgriLife Research center, the Lewis Lab, and the type of research Dr. Lewis and the graduate students are doing on soil fertility and chemistry.

Our current student workers are Lanna, Ethan, Kendall, Cadence, and Jayden. Their diverse educational background ranges across Equine Science, Agricultural Communications, Soil Science and Agronomy, and Animal Science from various institutions: Texas Tech University, Stephen F. Austin, BYU-Idaho, and the University of Findlay.

At the Lewis Lab, our dedicated student workers play a crucial role in supporting the research projects of the program. With their invaluable assistance, we are able to complete more tasks and collect a wealth of valuable data.
The presence of our student workers allows us to effectively manage the demands of multiple research projects simultaneously. These talented individuals bring with them fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn, which greatly enriches our research environment.
By collaborating closely with Dr. Lewis and the graduate students, our student workers gain hands-on experience and exposure to cutting-edge research. They assist in various tasks such as conducting experiments, data collection and analysis, managing and operating lab equipment, and assisting in literature reviews. Their exceptional work ethic and attention to detail contribute significantly to the smooth functioning of the Lewis Lab.
The contributions of our student workers extend beyond mere assistance. They actively contribute to the research process and provide valuable insights that enhance our understanding of the complex phenomena we study. Their unique perspectives and eagerness to contribute help us further push the boundaries of scientific knowledge.
Furthermore, the additional manpower provided by our student workers allows us to tackle larger-scale projects that would be otherwise unattainable. With their active involvement, we are able to complete tasks efficiently and expedite the pace of our research. Their support enables us to conduct more experiments, gather more data, and ultimately achieve breakthroughs that would not be possible without their help.

The role of our student workers in the Lewis Lab is invaluable. Through their dedication, hard work, and commitment to scientific exploration, we are able to complete more tasks and collect a wealth of data. Their contributions not only assist Dr. Lewis and the graduate students but also propel our research projects forward, ultimately contributing to the advancements in scientific understanding.
